The G3 Battle Rifle is a rare battle rifle usually found in areas such as Helicopter crashes and military areas. It shares
similarities with the MP5, such as the design and aperture sights (this is probably because both weapons were made by H&K). The gun can be switched between fully-automatic, and semi-automatic. This gun is excellent for long range fights and sniping off players. The G3 uses a full size 7.62x51mm NATO cartridge, which comes in 20, 30, or 50 round magazines. It kills players relatively quick, since it uses such a powerful bullet. However, when you run out of ammo for the G3, it can be a pain to find more box cartridges, let alone extended mags and even drum mags. The G3 is able to utilize optics, suppressors, and underslung attachments. It has a fire rate of 500-600 rpm, which is decent for a gun like this.
Trivia[]
- This weapon was conceived during the final years of WWII as a prototype.
- The gun found in the game is a G3A3.
- The G3 is manufactured by Heckler and Koch, along with USP 45, Mk 23, MP5, HK417, G36K, and HK21 being manufactured by the same company.
- Despite the H&K iron sights almost universally being considered some of the best iron sights (both in real life, and video games), in Apoc, they are generally considered to be pretty bad.
